چکیده
In the Okanagan Valley, sweet cherry production has expanded to higher latitudes due climate change, but availability of irrigation water is limited in this semi-arid region. Postharvest deficit (PDI) and organic mulches can reduce use orchards, their interactive effects on soil fertility, relations, crop performance new orchard environments are unknown. a randomized block split-plot design, full (100%) or PDI (72–76% irrigation) was applied main plots, (compost, woodchips, bare) were subplots at three sites. Compost increased matter, nutrients, pH, electrical conductivity over seasons all Woodchips tree growth foliar P Mn, while compost some fruit quality attributes, compared bare soil. Relative full, saved 24–28% after harvest per season each site without affecting moisture chemical properties, stem potential, performance, interacting with mulch effects. These results suggest that growing region promising strategy maintain improve fertility commercial production.

Productivity and water use efficiency of sweet sorghum as affected by soil water deficit occurring at different vegetative growth stages
The growth and production of sweet sorghum [Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench] crops under semi-arid conditions in the Mediterranean environment of southern Italy are constrained by water stress. The effects of temporary water stress on growth and productivity of sweet sorghum were studied during three seasons at Rutigliano (Bari, Italy). The aim of this research was to evaluate the sensitivity of ph...
متن کاملInfluence of Sub-Surface Irrigation on Soil Conditions and Water Irrigation Efficiency in a Cherry Orchard in a Hilly Semi-Arid Area of Northern China
Sub-surface irrigation (SUI) is a new water-saving irrigation technology. To explore the influence of SUI on soil conditions in a cherry orchard and its water-saving efficiency, experiments were conducted from 2009 to 2010 using both SUI and flood irrigation (FLI) and different SUI quotas in hilly semi-arid area of northern China. The results demonstrated the following: 1) The bulk density of t...
